Pantone Obsession

In case you missed the memo, Fatty Sundays (particularly our co-founder Ali!) is OBSESSED with color and of course Pantone! Ali even had a Pantone themed bridal shower complete with neon color swatches and all.

For those unfamiliar with the company, Pantone is known for its color matching system, PMS- short for Pantone Matching System. The idea behind the PMS is to allow designers to “color match” specific colors when a design enters production stage. Many of you may have seen those “fan books” or Pantone Guides with various tints of a specific color on each page. These are often used by painters to pick out paint colors. But, PMS is not just for painters. It is widely used by graphic designers and printing houses – AND by the Fatty Sundays team to match sprinkle colors for custom orders!

When we came across Lucy Litman‘s fun Pantone posts on Instagram, we just had to send her some of our chocolate covered pretzels! Our pretzels come in such a wide variety of colors (and flavors and textures!) that we knew she would have fun with the product. Check out this image she made for us using the following pretzel flavors: Cookies+Cream, Banana, Cereal+MIlk, Red Velvet, Toffee and Pistachio. She took each of the pretzels and paired them with a matching or complimentary Pantone swatch. There is really a color for every pretzel!

Another great thing about Pantone is their annual announcement of “Colors of The Year”, which tend to influence everything from interior design to fashion. The 2016 colors of the year were announced on December 3, 2015: Serenity and Rose Quartz. These colors started to appear everywhere and we even designed custom Fatty Sundays pretzels to match!

These pretzels were so much fun to make. We spent some time creating the perfect pink and blue shade and then created pretzels with the ombre effect. The pretzels were dipped in white chocolate which allowed the colors to really pop. Believe it or not, the pretzels tasted even better than they looked!
